LT Danae McFarlane

President

Lieutenant Danae McFarlane, a dedicated law enforcement professional, was born and raised in Jamaica before immigrating to the Bronx, New York, at the age of 13. She began her NYPD career as a Police Cadet in July 2008, where she gained valuable experience in the 42nd Precinct Domestic Violence Unit, Office of the Chief of Patrol, and Patrol Borough Bronx.

Appointed as a Police Officer in July 2010, Lieutenant McFarlane further honed her skills through various assignments, including patrol duties in the 52nd Precinct and serving as the Domestic Violence Prevention Officer in the 43rd Precinct. 

In September 2016, she transitioned to the Special Victims Division and later the Bronx Special Victims Squad, where she was promoted  to Detective.

Following her promotion to Sergeant in December 2020, Lieutenant McFarlane took on the role of Field Intelligence Sergeant at the Housing Bureau’s Police Service Area 7, where she demonstrated exceptional leadership and strategic insight.

In October 2023, she was promoted to Sergeant Detective Squad and assigned to the Intelligence Division Regional Intelligence Support Center, further utilizing her skills in intelligence gathering and analysis.

In August 2024, Lieutenant McFarlane achieved the rank of Lieutenant and is currently serving as the Commanding Officer of the Intelligence Division’s Field Intelligence Investigation Unit. 

Lieutenant McFarlane holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from John Jay College and is passionate about fostering community relations and supporting her fellow officers. She is the President of the NYPD Jamaican American Law Enforcement Organization (JAmLEO), where she champions the interests and welfare of Jamaican American officers in law enforcement.
